CHEYENNE – Cheyenne East rebounded from an early defeat Saturday to win its final two duals of the Thoman Memorial Duals in Green River.
The Thunderbirds lost to Worland (38-33) before beating Lyman-Jackson (48-24) and Green River (39-35). East went 5-1 on the weekend.
Seniors Blaise Ronnau (170 pounds) and Bradley Whitright (195) and sophomore Keagan Bartlett (182) all went 3-0 with three pins. Senior Trey Bower (220) was 3-0, while classmate Jackson Hesford (160) was 2-0 with two pins. Gavyn Aumiller (285) won his only bout of the day by pin.
Cheyenne Central beat Campbell County (54-27), but lost to Star Valley (45-27) and Rawlins (43-36). Slater Bates (145) was 3-0 with two pins, while Nathan Lundberg (160) and Charlie Nichols (182) went 2-0 with two pins. Kevin Rentz (160) won his only bout of the day by pin.
Cheyenne South lost to Pinedale (56-9), Kemmerer (39-28) and Rock Springs (69-12).
