“It feels great,” Fox said. “I’ve put in the hours, I’ve worked hard, and with my coaches and my teammates wrestling with me, it helps so much. It’s amazing. Coming in as a fre...

CASPER – Cody was so committed to stopping Cheyenne East’s high-scoring guards that it often left the low block unguarded Saturday afternoon.
At first the pressure frustrated the Lady Thunderbirds. Then they adjusted and exploited the opening during a 52-37 victory on the Wyoming Class 4A state girls basketball championship at the Wyoming Center in Casper.
Senior forward Ashley Marshall came off the bench to score all 10 of her points during the first half. Most came from the block.

CHEYENNE – Consistency has always been at the forefront of Alison Crock’s success.
It allowed her to keep things smooth as a setter for the Cheyenne East volleyball squad last season which has transitioned into this season after the senior had even more time to work on her craft over the summer.
That consistency leads to kills from her hitters and energy throughout the team.
“She’s super consistent,” East coach Nicole Quigley said. “She does a great job of being consistent with her sets and I think the gir...

CHEYENNE – Taliah Morris tried to eat before her first high school indoor track and field meet, but couldn’t.
As annoying as it was, it wasn’t unusual for the Cheyenne East freshman. Her nerves also got the best of her and kept her from eating before every track meet she competed in for Carey Junior High.
Morris’ nerves weren’t the only thing that carried over from her middle school days. So did her dominance.
She won the 55- and 200-meter dashes, triple jump and long jump at the Gillette meet to earn Prep...

CHEYENNE – Adrian Hernandez didn’t like what he saw when Cheyenne East watched game film last season.
The linebacker saw himself getting to the football frequently, but he often didn’t make the tackle.
“I saw myself being lazy and not doing what I should have,” Hernandez said. “I got to the play, but I didn’t make the play. That really got on my nerves and made me want to work that much harder.
“If gave me a lot of motivation to really work on my craft.”

CHEYENNE – It took only a few weeks of practice for Gavin Goff to understand just how good a quarterback Graedyn Buell could be.
Buell’s family moved to Cheyenne prior to his sophomore year, and he earned the starting nod for Cheyenne East that season. Buell spent his freshman campaign as Rock Springs’ starting signal-caller.
“He moved in when I was a freshman, and you could tell how good of a quarterback he is and how great of an arm he has,” said Goff, who first started playing quarterback as a third-grader...
